The International Federation of Football History and Statistics (IFFHS) have named Nigerian footballer, Kanu Nwankwo a legend. He was listed among 47 other football pundits as legends of football on the federation’s website
The list which is in it’s first phase also sees other African nationals such as George Weah of Liberia, Roger Miller of Cameroon to mention but a few. In all,
there are 7 Africans on the list of which Kanu Nwankwo is the only Nigerian.
It is interesting to note that Kanu was captain of the Super Eagles of Nigeria for 16 years (1994-2010) and has won a UEFA Champions League medal, a UEFA Cup medal, three FA Cup Winners Medals and two African Player of the Year awards amongst others.
