Eaglets Beat Mali To Retain FIFA U-17 World Cup Title


Nigeria emerged the FIFA U-17 World Cup winner early this morning after beating opponents Mali 2-0 in Vina Del Mar, Chile.

With a record breaking ten goals, top striker Victor Osimhen fired the Nigerian side into the lead before Funsho Bamgboye added a second moments later.

Wanted B’Haram suspect caught at Abuja airport

One of the 100 suspected Boko Haram militants declared wanted by the Nigerian army has been arrested at the Nnamdi Azikwe International Airport in Abuja. 

The suspect identified as Chindo Bello, was nabbed on Sunday, while attempting to board a flight to Lagos. 

Confirming the development, Sani Usman, spokesman of the army, said Bello is currently undergoing interrogation.

Gbemisola Saraki, former member of the house of reps and two-time senator, has described the tribunal verdict which declared Aisha Alhassan as the duly elected governor of Taraba State as “victory for all Nigerian women”.

In a statement issued on Sunday, the younger sister of Nigeria’s senate president said the feat would encourage women to vie for public office without considering their gender as an obstacle.

This judgment will be reversed, says Taraba gov


Darius Ishaku, who was sacked by the Taraba state tribunal, says though he is disappointed by the judgment, he believes the court of appeal will rule in his favour. 
The tribunal declared Aisha Alhassan of the All Progressives Congress (APC) as winner of the April 11 election, saying Ishaku did not emerge candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party’s (PDP) in a proper primary election.
