'Still hope,' says José Mourinho after Real Madrid lose 4-1 in Dortmund

• 'Of course we can still do it,' says the Portuguese manager
• Jürgen Klopp likens win to 'Robin Hood taking from the rich'

RDortmund's manager Jürgen Klopp looks on as Real Madrid's José Mourinho gestures during their Champions League semi-final.

José Mourinho said that Real Madrid would turn round their semi-final deficit against Borussia Dortmund or die trying after they were thrashed 4-1 in Germany on Wednesday night, all four of the hosts' goals coming from the coveted Polish striker
Robert Lewandowski.

Madrid conceded those four just 24 hours after Barcelona had done the same against Bayern Munich but Cristiano Ronaldo's away goal gave them a glimmer of hope for the Santiago Bernabéu on Tuesday and the Portuguese coach insisted:
"Nothing is impossible in football."

Dortmund's manager, Jürgen Klopp, agreed that the tie was not
over and insisted that whatever happened next this would be a
historic night for the club. "That was like Robin Hood taking
from the rich," he said, adding that he would not be leaving at
the end of the season and that he did not expect Lewandowski to
depart either. There have been reports of an approach for the
striker from Bayern Munich and of offers from English clubs,
too, but Klopp insisted the 24-year-old would stay.
Mourinho said: "It is obvious that Dortmund were the better
side. They were more aggressive physically and mentally and
they won virtually all the duels. I have the feeling that every
goal was a mistake. And we had one or two more [mistakes] that
could have [made the score] worse too but our goalkeeper made
good saves.
"Over the last three years at Madrid I have met lots of people
and they have told me lots of things about the club, including
the importance of the Bernabéu [on European nights],"
Mourinho continued. "Things seem impossible but they are not.
There is still hope. If you asked the players now if there is a
chance, they would say 'no'. Ask them in an hour and they will
say 'yes'. By next Tuesday they will be ready to go for it and give
everything.
"Of course we can do it. On a crazy night where everyone
performs at a high level and you score every chance, you can do
it. What you cannot do is get knocked out without dying on the
pitch. If we are knocked out I want [Dortmund] to suffer and I
want the Madrid players to leave the pitch with absolutely
nothing left to give."
Klopp added: "This will go down in the club's history books. I
hope soon they will show a film in the club's museum of the
goals by Lewandowski tonight but that will only happen if we
win on Tuesday. The goals were incredible; the third is worth
every single cent of what the TV channels pay for the rights.
"I would never have dreamed that we would score four in a
semi-final of the Champions League. If we lose 3-0, we're out. If
4-1, it's extra-time. So it's not over but whatever happens we
will give our best and let's not ruin the pleasure of this night.
"Lewandowski is quality [because of] his mentality, his fitness,
what he thinks about football, how cool he is," Klopp said,
adding: "And I am sure he will stay."
So too will Klopp, even though he is realistic enough to know
that one of the consequences of this success is that it makes the
breakup of the side more likely. "I have told the journalists that
they can write what they want, but I will stay," he said. "That
might not be the best news for some of the players but it is the
truth so it's no problem.
"The better you get the more the other teams want your players;
you cannot be successful and have nobody recognise it. Every
year we lost one brilliant player and we get better and better
and better. It is no problem because we know we have to
concentrate on the next match and not think about next year.
This team's mentality is to enjoy each day that we are together
and then we will see at the end of the season."

France legalize same sex marriage.... hmmm! #gbb

France legalized gay marriage on Tuesday after a
wrenching national debate and protests that flooded the streets
of Paris. Legions of officers and water cannon stood ready near
France's National Assembly ahead of the final vote, bracing for
possible violence on an issue that galvanized the country's
faltering conservative movement.
The measure passed easily in the Socialist-majority Assembly,
331-225, just minutes after the president of the legislative body
expelled a disruptive protester in pink, the color adopted by
French opponents of gay marriage.
"Only those who love democracy are here," Claude Bartelone,
the Assembly president, said angrily.
In recent weeks, violent attacks against gay couples have spiked
and some legislators have received threats -- including
Bartelone, who got a gunpowder-filled envelope on Monday.
One of the biggest protests against same-sex marriage drew
together hundreds of thousands of people bused in from the
French provinces -- conservative activists, schoolchildren with
their parents, retirees, priests and others. That demonstration
ended in blasts of tear gas, as right-wing rabble-rousers, some
in masks and hoods, led the charge against police, damaging
cars along the Champs-Elysees avenue and making a break for
the presidential palace.
Justice Minister Christiane Taubira told lawmakers that the first
weddings could be as soon as June.
"We believe that the first weddings will be beautiful and that
they'll bring a breeze of joy, and that those who are opposed to
them today will surely be confounded when they are overcome
with the happiness of the newlyweds and the families," she said.
When President Francois Hollande promised to legalize gay
marriage, it was seen as relatively uncontroversial. But the issue
has become a touchstone as his popularity has sunk to
unprecedented lows, largely over France's ailing economy.
But the most visible face in the fight against gay marriage -- a
former comedienne who goes by the name of Frigide Barjot --
said the movement named "A Protest for Everyone" will
continue beyond the law's passage and possibly field candidates
in 2014 municipal elections. She said anyone involved in protest
violence would be marginalized, but blamed the government for
its failure to listen.
"The violence comes from the way in which this was imposed,"
Barjot told France Info radio.
French conservatives, decimated by infighting and the election
loss of standard-bearer Nicolas Sarkozy, had found a rallying
cause in same-sex marriage. Hoping to keep the issue alive, the
conservative UMP party planned to challenge the law in the
Constitutional Council.
French civil unions, allowed since 1999, are at least as popular
among heterosexuals as among gay and lesbian couples. But
that law has no provisions for adoption, and the strongest
opposition in France as far as same-sex couples goes comes
when children are involved. According to recent polls, just over
half of French are opposed to adoption by same-sex couples --
about the same number who said they favored same-sex
marriage.
Christophe Crepin, spokesman for the police union UNSA, says
the extraordinary security Tuesday includes a total of about
4,000 officers in the area near the National Assembly building
and water cannon positioned nearby. One group of anti-riot
police swarmed the banks of the Seine River about a quarter-
mile from the legislature, hours before protests were scheduled
there.
France is the 14th country to legalize gay marriage. On the
cover of Tuesday's Liberation newspaper, the famed gay
photographers Pierre and Gilles took over the front page and
several of the inside pages, splashing them with some of their
most provocative photos, including one of three soccer players
-- nude but for the footwear -- facing the camera.
In New Zealand, where gay marriage enjoys popular support,
people gathered outside Parliament and joined in singing a
traditional Maori love ballad after a vote last week making it
legal. Nine states and the District of Columbia in the U.S. also
recognize such marriages, but the federal government does not.

Boston explosion: 8-yr-old victim died waiting to watch dad cross finish line #GBB

Eight-year-old Martin Richard was killed by the first of the explosions that rocked the finish line of the Boston Marathon. He had been there waiting to watch his father Bill cross the line: a rite of passage for scores of Boston youngsters living in the city that hosts one of the world’s oldest races.

According to the Boston Globe, Martin was very nearly saved from the blast after running out to hug his father, but his father kept on going and Martin returned to his mother. As Mr Richard carried on, his son, six-year-old daughter and wife were hit by the first of the blasts that came just 10 seconds and 90m apart. Martin was one of three killed by the twin blasts.

His sister Jane has reportedly lost a leg and his mother Denise is understood to have undergone surgery for a serious head injury. They were among the 170 who were injured in the attack. His older brother, 12-year-old Henry, is not thought to have been hurt in the explosion. According to neighbours, Mr Richard, who runs an environmental testing company, returned to his home in the Dorchester suburb of Boston this morning still in hospital scrubs.

I don't know where this happened...some people are saying Abuja but I'm not so sure about that. The lady was seriously harassed for wearing a skimpy dress. Watch the video and tell us what you think. I personally do not support what was done to this woman. You are free to disagree...watch!

See wedding photos: Solomon Akiyesi has another wife, Ezinne #GBB

Got these photos from Stella Dimoko Korkus blog. The reason I'm sharing these photos here is because there are people who are insinuating that I'm good friends with Lilian so I'm deliberately hiding the fact that Solomon was married to someone else before he married Lilian. I'd like to be open with my readers. I'm sure Lilian Akiyesi is a good woman, but we are not friends. I've never met her, we've only spoken on the phone...and this was just yesterday. Never heard of Solomon and Lilian Akiyesi before this scandal broke on Saturday. And it wasn't Lilian who alerted me, it was some other lady who knew what was about to go down at the church and wanted me to get the exclusive so she called that morning.

Having said that, I don't know what the facts are with this other wife, but according to SDK, Solomon married Ezinne first (pictured above at their wedding). And without divorcing her, married Lilian, and without divorcing Lilian, wanted to marry another woman, Uloma Agwu. How sad for this man!

Eco Bank In Trouble Over NNPC Account Fraud…May Lose Licence #GBB

The management of Jibril Aku-led Eco Bank is presently running from pillar to post from an impending trouble over an unprofessional conduct, fraud and financial malpractice on an account belonging to one of the institutions` biggest customers, Francis Ogaree who`s one of the senior managers with the Nigeria National Petroleum Corporation (NNPC) of NNPC Towers, Abuja.

Aside suing the bank for a N100m damages, Francis Ogaree has vowed to make sure Eco bank loses its banking licence as a result of what he termed as unprofessional, unethical and sharp banking practices by falsifying his account statements thereby ridiculing his person before credit bureau and other financial institutions.

According to the statement of claims made available to National Enquirer by Ogaree`s counsel, Dr. Yemi Oke of MJS Partners suing the bank for a N100m and directing the apex bank, the central bank of Nigeria to revoke Eco bank's licence, Eco bank was said to have been in the habit of illegally deducting monies from Ogaree`s domiciliary account without his consent.

We gathered reliably that, Ogaree who operates three different domiciliary accounts with details as follow: 0012510100651801 (now 0012047436) and 0015010100651801 (0012068781) and one other at the bank`s headquarters on Ahmadu Bello Way, Victoria Island, Lagos was stunned when sometimes in 2007/2008 he experienced unauthorized deductions in his account and informed the bank's management which put up a lackadaisical attitude until he threatened a law suit before it was reversed .

And as if that was not enough, the bank has since continued and repeatedly making illegal deductions by cloning a separate credit card (ATM) attached to his domiciliary account simply because he (Ogaree) is a very busy executive who have no time to cross-check details of his spending until the recent one which was the last straw that broke the camel`s back.

Bubble burst when Ogaree who`s involved in a business transaction with a mega company required the approval of Credit Bureaus to clear him of any indebtedness with any company in Nigeria, a process which necessitates his banker`s clearance via the issuance of a Letter of Non-Indebtedness, and to his chagrin, his hope to get the said letter from Eco Bank was dashed as his Banker turned him down through an email from its representatives: Akaegbu Victoria (vakaegbu@ecobank.com) copying another Eco Bank top Staff, Alarapon Fadake (falarapon@ecobank.com) on March 1st, 2012 at 2.49pm stating that he is seriously indebted to the bank and cannot be issued with the letter.

Though very mad at this, the top NNPC staff, Ogaree had behaved wisely and responsibly by calling the attention of the affected branches to investigate, reconcile and rectify his account, all we learnt were to no avail as the bank`s management forwarded and widely circulated the falsified account statements and purported indebtedness to the Credit Bureaus and other financial institutions thereby portraying Ogaree a debtor, reckless and irresponsible human being who`s incapable of managing a business and paying his debts whereas after thorough checking, it was discovered that, Eco Bank had actually had outstanding payments in respect of a MasterCard account, the opening of which was neither authorized nor consented to by Ogaree.

We shall bring more from the legal tussle with suit No.: FHC/L/CS/410/2012 as events unfold.
In our facts finding mission, National Enquirer got in touch with the head, corporate communications of EcoBank, Austin Osokpor but efforts were abortive as at the time of going to press.

Lesbianism In Nollywood Is Not Going To Stop Soon – Vivian Pius #GBB

Despite the government's frown on the illicit affair of same sex, and many praying and fasting to see an end to the sudden surge in lesbianism in Nigeria`s movie industry, one of the actresses in Nollywood, Vivian Pius, has confessed that lesbianism is a norm in Nollywood that is not going to stop soon.

“Lesbianism has come to stay in Nollywood. Though it exists in other industries such as banking, medical and others, that of Nollywood is more open to the public because of who we are, as a society`s role models.

It has come to be seen as a cartel where those who belong to a group find it easier getting movie roles. Some of them can even make you rich overnight beyond your expectation. Those who are in it and know their onions can tell you better.

They get the best of jobs and are richer driving in big cars and seeing at the best of places. The same thing goes for the homosexuals.

The industry has become what many of us never dreamed of, going the way of Hollywood and other European movie industries. It is also in Alaba International Market. They control the industry. It is all about packaging. But there is still hope that those who are not patronizing them will still make it in Nollywood,”

Vivien, who was spotted on the set of Simone’s Production in Festac, Lagos said

I Will Probably Not Stop Acting-Ini Edo #GBB

Glo Ambassador and top Nollywood actress cum producer, Ini Edo-Ehiagwina has confessed that she may probably not stop acting. She was interviewed recently during the movie premier she co-produced, Weekend Getaway, where the budding producer and seasoned actress, Ini aligned herself with the revolutionist of Nollywood.

“I have a dream and that I am presently fulfilling; that I am part of a revolution which I think is going on right now in Nollywood. These are group of people that feel like they love the industry and would not let it go down. No matter what is happening we need try make it better. I am one of those people. It is a natural inborn feeling that I have about the industry. For me it is about if I am making my own film the way I feel films should be told, it is going to be my own way of contributing to the change in the industry for it to grow to what we want it to. I am going to keep producing. I will probably not stop acting but keep on making films,” the AkwaIbom star actress said.

Ini was later asked what her glowing look secrets are, “that is a very hard pack, I know, well, I will say, I learn to eat right. I am an African woman from AkwaIbom where there are good foods. But then I try to keep it down, keep it healthy, do more of walk out. Healthy living is what it really is. Looking good is how you feel inside. It is also the fact that we are enjoying what we worked for. I am an advocate for good living,” the Ibibio queen explained.

Filmmaker Jeta Amata: Capturing Nigeria #GBB

Nigerian Filmmaker (© Facebook)Nigerian Filmmaker (© Facebook)Nigerian Filmmaker (© Facebook)

The last few years have seen stakeholders of the Nigerian film industry lead a structural design, calculated to make their system work. That resolve has led to the growth of the industry, now known as Nollywood; home to some of the world’s most ambitious filmmakers. Given its rising global position as the second biggest film market in the world, it is safe to say these filmmakers have made a mark. Equally refreshing is their constant appreciation of international best practices, while there are a good number of productions coming out of Nollywood that barely meet standards there are exceptions that occasionally remind the world of the existence of an African film world, and offer a fresh artistic injection.

Jeta Amata belongs to that cluster of Nigerian filmmakers who have decided to tell their story differently. If you are an avid student of Nollywood, you will know that the very few who are able to go the extra mile to put out quality productions, are hailed, and accorded the kind of respect they deserve.

Such is the feel-good factor behind Amata’s success story. In the last half decade, he’s been called everything from ‘Maverick’ to a filmmaker whose stories are as ‘puzzling’ as his persona. Amata himself has inspired some kind words, as he continues to put forward his best foot, encouraging a succession of quality end products. He knows he is good at what he does so when attacks are made on his creative dispositions he replies gently by letting people know ‘he is Nollywood’.

Akon attends the Black November New York City Premiere at United Nations
“I don’t care what people say, or what they think, or how they say it is really not Nollywood, I am Nollywood,” he recently told the CNN. Amata comes from a family of filmmakers. His brother Fred Amata is a popular face on local television. His father is a veteran actor. His confidence, inspired in part by the successes chalked by his family, however he created his own paths and has become that filmmaker, adored at home and spoken of respectfully internationally. In 2003, when he produced a short film for the BBC, he used his movie the Game of Life as footage. That prepared him for the bigger leagues.

Part of the Jeta Amata success story, which includes the efficacious execution of productions like The Amazing Grace, Mary Slessor and Alexa Affair, has placed him above the noise. The Amazing Grace is the first Nigerian movie to be screened at the Cannes Film Festival. It won the award for Best West African Film at the 2006 Screen Nation Awards. Alexa Affair was also screened at the 2004 Berlin Film Festival.

Black November
He’s reached a point where quality is just another part of his directing toolkit. His storylines can be heart wrenching and consuming but also provokes and stirs intellectual discussion.

Out and already winning Amata a lot of praise is Black November, a story on the struggle for the Niger Delta – an oil producing region in the South-South Zone of Nigeria. A taboo and contentious subject for the Nigerian government and people, the air that hovers around the Niger Delta isn’t one most Nigerians breathe with excitement. It evokes fear.

Black Gold
So when Amata decided to use the art of storytelling to capture it, he knew what was in store for him; revisiting a 50-year old industry that has brought pain and anguish for too many Nigerians. Evermore stark, was the interpretation it was going to get. But he flipped all of that and opened a new page – one that tells the story in a viewer-friendly manner. He wanted a story that was different – free from political connotations and unsubstantiated theories. He’s managed to do that.

Released last year, Black November is esteemed and reviled in equal measure. Some voices within the Nigerian government say it seeks to challenge the system but Amata has stood to the defence of his creative piece of work, insisting it is a visual projection of what the story is and not what a group of persons would want to see it become.

Kim Basinger attends the 'Black November' New York City Premiere at United Nations
Originally titled Black Gold, the movie had over 60% of the initial scripts reshot and presented as the new title, in celebration of the month in which the late Nigerian activist Ken Saro-Wiwa was arrested and executed in 1995 by the then military regime. Saro-Wiwa led constant protests against the oil company Royal Dutch, who were later accused by his family of having a hand in his death. His death led to Nigeria being suspended from the British Commonwealth, only to be reinstated in 1999.

Actor MickeyRourke, left, and actress Mbong Amata attend a screening of Black November
Black November stars a blend of Nigerian and Hollywood stars including his wife Mbong Amata as female lead, his father Zack, his brother Fred, Mickey Rourke, Kim Basinger, Kae-Kazim, Dede MAbiaku, Enyinna Nwigwe, Ivar Brogger, Nathin Butler, Nse Ikpe-Etim, Ibrahim Aba-Gana, Vivica Fox, and Nadine Nicole, Heimann among others.
It also stars the Haitian-born American musician Wyclef Jean and Senegalese-American composer/musician/producer/entrepreneur Akon, who doubles as Executive Producer.
